Cosmetic Tattoo Removal Aftercare

Fortunately, cosmetic tattoo removal treatments tend to be less intense than traditional tattoo removal. In order to lessen any chances of unwanted side effects, we threat the face more moderately than a regular tattoo, while still achieving great results. It is common to experience some redness, swelling, itchiness,
and changes to the color of the tattoo pigment.

  • Drink plenty of water! Staying hydrated is huge during your tattoo removal process!

  • During the downtime, we recommend massaging the area regularly with a gentle moisturizer in order to increase blood flow. The increase in circulation will help your body break the ink down more efficiently.

  • Some clients have success with using LED light therapy on their face! red LED lights are wonderful for circulation, and will push the process along. Green LED lights help soothe the skin and reduce redness. These can be ordered through Amazon and can be used daily. Many of these masks will have both features, but you should check before buying.

  • If you notice the color of your ink has changed after your last laser treatment, don’t worry! We can target different pigments at the next session with a different wavelength. We know it is a little scary, but trust the process!

  • Similar to regular laser tattoo removal treatments, we suggest to ice the area to lessen swelling and cool the treated area down. Aloe, gentle lotions, and vitamin E are safe to use immediately following the treatment.

  • Stay away from any active skin care ingredients over the treated area such as retinols and acids for at least a week following your treatment. Same goes with any physical exfoliant such as a facial scrub.

  • No hot showers, saunas, or intense exercise for at least 36 hours.
    Avoid sun exposure for 2 weeks following your treatment. We recommend a mineral sunscreen to be applied daily to help protect the treated area.

  • Makeup can be applied 36 hours after your treatment, as long as there is no scabbing.
